Meet "US"
Due to expanding our reach to include 15 schools throughout Oklahoma, Texas and Utah, The V(i)llage™ added five exemplary student experts to our team.
AMBASSADOR PROFILES
ALEXIS BAKER: is from Syracuse, UT. Her major is health promotion with an emphasis in community health and a minor in African American studies. Her hobbies are reading, hanging out with friends and watching movies. She is an ambassador because "I want to help my community shape leaders while giving students a sense of ethnic pride and what it means to them to be Black." Alexis attends the University of Utah.
PATRICK MUVUNYI: is from Gitarama, Rwanda. His major is medical laboratory science. His hobbies are soccer, working out, positives vibes, music and volunteering. He is an ambassador because "The V(i)llage program is something for self-identifying African and American American students. I wish I had this when I was in high school. Hence, the main reason for doing this program is to try and be a voice and mentor for as many students as possible." Patrick attends the University of Utah.
JANET TRAN: is from Taylorsville, UT. Her major is management and international studies. Her hobbies are volunteering, watching sports and working out. She is an ambassador because "I chose to be an ambassador to share my experiences as a leader, as an active community member and as an academic." Janet attends the University of Utah.
NATALIE PINKNEY: is from Las Vegas, NV. She is currently completing a masters degree in Educational Leadership and Policy at the University of Utah. Her hobbies are tennis, networking and being a foodie. She is involved with The V(i)llage because "Social Justice is my biggest value, to be able to be a part of a leadership and bridge program is my dream. I am happy to be able to help my community."
